Kurt Soucek is a member of International Society of Appraisers (ISA). He is a graduate of the ISA course on the Appraisal of Personal Property and has regularly attended Professional Development Conferences to maintain his expertise in specific areas of personal property appraisal such as furniture, collectibles, decorative, and fine arts as well as knowledge of the current best practices of the appraisal industry. Kurt has studied the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). Successfully completing all required courses and exams set for the industry by the Appraisal Standards Board. He has been professionally writing appraisals of antiques and residential content since 2012. He has written appraisals for many high-net-worth individuals and institutions. For over 20 years Kurt has been a student and collector of the decorative arts starting as a child in his fathers jewelry workshop. As a young adult Kurt spent more than a decade developing his skills as a design professional working in print, online, and motion picture arts before becoming a dealer in antique furniture and decorative arts both at retail and as an estate liquidator. Kurt has been lucky to travel extensively in Europe and the Americas studying fine and decorative arts at great houses and museums alike, and has attended courses and lectures on many subjects in the field. He holds a degree in Web Design from Robert Morris University in Chicago. Kurt has been a habitual dealer, collector, and restorer of antique scooters and motorcycles for much of his adult life.
